A Letter from the Publisher

Dear Readers,

Kena BlainHappy New Year to our readers… 2012 has officially arrived, while we tell 2011 goodbye! Now it is time to focus on our resolutions and encourage the ones you love to stick to theirs. The more we talk about our resolutions with others, the more likely we are to complete them. Keep up the hard work and make yourself feel better. WE ALL deserve to be fit & fabulous!

2012 is going to be an exciting year with elections coming up, make sure to vote. “If you don’t vote, you can’t complain”, I’ve heard a friend say. Make sure keep your eyes open for our female candidates, make your vote count. Remember 92 years ago women were given the right so let’s keep practicing it! Page 33, you will find an article on the importance of voting. Make sure to share this important message with your family and friends.

Osceola County is starting off with a bang, see details on page 31. Maria G. Toumazos and the OEDD have been working hard to bring in higher paying jobs to Osceola County. OWN has been able to recognize special, hard working women throughout the community. Thank you to those who nominated and participated in this series. To see our last group of women see page 28. Don’t forget your sweetheart this year or to shop local for them. You’ll find great deals on flowers, treats, accessories, facials, and pedicures throughout the paper! You won’t have to leave the county and you can support our local businesses. OWN is celebrating its 6th anniversary this year!
